Lam Mee @ May Keng Cafe, Seri Kembangan, Selangor

Date: 14 May 2011
Place: May Keng Cafe, Seri Kembangan, Selangor
Dish: Lam Mee, Hor Fun (Kuey Teow Soup), Fried Dumplings, Soya Drinks
Price: RM25.30 for 3 persons
My better-half just completed his routine yearly medical check-up and it was still half way to lunch time. His mom suggested May Keng Cafe which was famous for its Lam Mee, at Taman Serdang Perdana. Apparently, this is a branch of the famous outlet of the same name at Jalan Pudu.

Lam Mee is not one of those dishes that I particularly fancy, as I have not come across any that lives up to my expectation. Lam Mee is basically made up of noodles, in thick sauce, garnished with prawns,  and pork or chicken slices. I was bent on trying the Lam Mee at May Keng Cafe as it was highly recommended.

Between the three of us, we ordered two Lam Mee, one Kuey Teow Soup, and some fried dumplings and soya drinks. I must say that I do find the Lam Mee here tasty, and would not hesitate to recommend this place to Lam Mee lovers. There is something about the noodle used,  tasted like home-made.

So, if you happen to be around here, or just suddenly crave for Lam Mee, do give this place a try! :-)

Green Tea Cake and Hazelnut Sesame Cake from RT Pastry, Subang Jaya

Date: 11 May 2011
Place: RT Pastry, Subang Jaya, Selangor
Dish: Green Tea Cake and Hazelnut Sesame Cake

After dinner tonight, I suddenly had a craving for cakes. My obvious choice for cakes is RT Pastry (always!). We drove to the branch in SS15, Subang Jaya and saw a crowd inside, which is a normal daily scene in the bakery. That just shows how much people love this bakery. I have tried their cakes, pastries and breads, and love all of them! RT Pastry really lives up to its slogan as being "The Best Pastry House in Town". I am pretty sure that once you try it, you will agree with me on this :-)

Toasted Chicken Cutlet Sandwich and Beef Bacon, Sausage, Eggs & Toast Breakfast @ Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie

Date: 7 May 2011
Place: Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie, off Jalan Imbi Kuala Lumpur
Dish: Toasted Chicken Cutlet Sandwich; Beef Bacon, Sausage, Eggs & Toast; Appricot Sunrise and loads of other pastries!
Price: RM103.25 (5 persons)

One of my childhood friend was back home for holiday with her hubby. She has not been to Levain, hence I decided to bring them here for a catch-up session over breakfast:-)

Each time I am here, it is always full of people. If you want to get a seat immediately, you should come very early, else you will need to wait a while. This eating place is housed in a two-storey bungalow house, and the decor is French-like and it gives one the feeling of eating somewhere in Paris :-). It serves mostly bread and pastries, but also have lunch and dinner sets on its menu. You can check out their website for their menu -->

The ambience is nice, though a little packed with people, and their food is ok. Apparently, their bread and pastries are baked over a traditional stone oven.

If you have not been to this place, I would recommend that you try at least once, especially when you want that different feel while enjoying your meal! :-)

Dinner- Port Village Seafood @ Port Klang

Date: 7 May 2011
Place: Port Village Seafood @ Port Klang
Dish: 'Kam Heong' crab 1.5 kg, Nyonya 'Hong Chou' fish, Kailan, Tofu, Mantis prawn in 'Kung po' style
Price: RM 206 for 5 persons

It was agreed that tonight would be Seafood for dinner. If you live in Klang Valley, and looking for good places for Seafood, a must-mentioned place would definitely be Port Klang.

The journey to Port Klang was one pleasant drive (thanks to my brother-in-law), with beautiful sunset scene as we neared our destination.

As we turned into the parking lot of Port Village Seafood, one could see many cars already parked there, which is quite reassuring, as it means that this place is popular, and after a long km drive, you wouldn't want to be disappointed on what will await you (well for me at least, and even though I am not the driver, haha!).  I was quite surprise with how fast the service is, considering the number of people and tables. And yes, the food was fantastic!

This was my first time here, but was told that sometimes you could see a huge ship passing by. That must be a really amazing scene, I mean how often do one see something like that, especially while you are enjoying your dinner!

In short, this is a highly recommended place. With a warm and satisfied tummy, we made our drive back.. and the drive was well worth it...  :-)
