Ah Lye Curry Fish Head @ SS 19, Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia [Dish: Curry Fish Head, Assam Prawn, Sambal Belacan Kangkung, Salted Chicken]

Date: 19 May 2012
Place: Ah Lye Curry Fish Head, SS19, Subang Jaya,  Selangor, Malaysia
Dish: Curry Fish Head, Assam Prawn, Sambal Belacan Kangkung, Salted Chicken
Price: RM142 (for 5 persons including a pot of Jasmine tea)

After reaching home from a day of shopping at the Gardens Midvalley, I immediately head for my bed for a short nap, which became a one hour sleep! Mom woke me up just in time for dinner. Today's dinner is at a new place which we were introduced to, i.e Ah Lye Curry Fish Head at SS19, Subang Jaya. Sister, her hubby and her mother-in-law were already there when we arrived about 7pm.

The dishes came quickly, and one of the dish that you must absolutely try is their signature Curry Fish Head, from which the restaurant name was derived. I enjoyed the Curry Fish Head, Sambal Prawn and Sambal Belacan Kangkung thoroughly- you could really taste the freshness of the ingredients used. The Salted Chicken was just ok, as we have tasted better elsewhere.

About 8pm, the place was already jam-packed, with patrons standing both outside and inside the restaurant waiting. After finishing our meal, we quickly paid, and made way for other patrons who were waiting for their turn to be seated.

This restaurant is indeed a welcomed addition to the Subang Jaya Chinese eating scene, as I do feel that Subang Jaya still lacked behind other places in terms of diversity of Chinese food. This place is definitely worth a try- the only advise is that you should come early for a place! :-)

I spent nearly the whole day at the Gardens and Mid Valley Megamall with mom today, as we needed to get two essentials for her coming holiday i.e. a new camera, and a new sling bag for travel.

We managed to get a new Nikon camera (the photos below are taken with the new camera!) just before lunch. Korean food was on our mind and incidentally there was a Korean food outlet on the same floor where we were (i.e. Lower Ground Floor of the Gardens).

I ordered Spicy Kimchi Korean Noodle with Seafood while mom ordered Korean Pan Mee with Seafood. Drink was Korean Rice Tea. Both of us enjoyed it thoroughly! :-) I would definitely recommend this place for Korean food lovers!

I checked out their website and realised that they have several other outlets in Klang Valley --> http://www.kohyang.com.my/

After lunch, we walked again, and for tea time,we stopped for Starbucks Coffee with a cup of my all- time favourite i.e hot Caramel Macchiato.

Today was sort of a Retail Therapy-day for me as I got myself a really nice bag. And mom got herself a new camera and a sling bag as planned :-)

"Lat Tong" (Spicy Soup), "Fa Tiu" Claypot Chicken, Steamed ''Tofu'' @ Restoran Kien Kee Sup Pedas Ayam Kampung, Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia

Date: 5 May 2012
Place: Restoran Kien Kee Sup Pedas Ayam Kampung, Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia
Dish: Lat Tong, Fa Tiu Claypot Chicken, Steamed Tofu, Vegetable
Price: RM135 (for 7 adults including rice and tea)

Last Saturday's dinner place is one of those places that you must absolutely try at least once. The reason being that its signature dish i.e. ''Lat Tong''  which literally translates as Spicy Soup or Sup Pedas in Malay, is really tasty. The restaurant is located in the old-village part of Serdang, and apparently it maybe the only few around!

We wanted to have something special for dinner, especially when we invited my parents, brother, sister and brother-in-law along. This time we went early, having reach there by 7pm just before the dinner crowd started. Previously, we came around 7.30pm and had to wait more than half and hour for the dishes to be served. Since we were early the dishes came swiftly, one after the other :-)

''Lat Tong'' is a dish of chicken and pork (parts) cooked in a ginger and pepperish-based soup which give it the 'spicy' taste.  "Fa Tiu'' claypot chicken is another one of their signature dish which was quite yummy too. The chicken meat is very tender and juicy. Apparently, the chicken used is 'kampung chicken' i.e. chicken that is not commercially-bred thus healthier :-) We also ordered steamed "Tofu", a dish which I always enjoy, and ''Yew Mak" for vegetable.

We finished everything to the very last bit (and we actually ordered extra serving of the Lat Tong, and the soup tasted better in the second serving!).

Though the place maybe a bit run-down, I will still recommend this place if one has not try it. So, on one of those weekends when you feel adventurous, drive over to this place and you will not be disappointed. If you ever get lost, just stop and ask - every person in Serdang will be able to show you the place :-).. Hopefully the next time, my sister-in-law can join us too! :-)

Japanese Dinner @ Sakae Sushi, Subang Parade Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia [Curry Udon, Gyu Kinuko Don, Soft- Shell Crab Sushi Rol, Smoked Salmon Sushi roll]

Place: Sakae Sushi, Subang Parade, Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia
Dish: Curry Udon, Gyu Kinuko Don, Soft- Shell Crab Sushi Roll, Smoked Salmon Sushi roll
Price: RM 52.89 (include 2 hot Genmai tea)

This was a Friday night, and I was not craving anything in particular. My better-half suggested Sakae Sushi at Subang Parade, and I readily agreed. Having been to Sakae Sushi countless times in various branches, I must say that the food never fails to satisfy one's appetite. Their outlet at Subang Parade has a very nice family-like atmosphere which I enjoy. This outlet is indeed a good complement to the existing Japanese restaurants in Subang Jaya. I definitely recommend this place for Japanese food lovers. Bon Appetite!

I first came to this place during my last outing with my girlfriends. We make it a point to meet up now and then. They know Sunway Pyramid pretty well, and suggested this place for dinner. I had a great time, and the food was really good hence decided to have dinner here on Friday nite.

The history of the place begins with a Japanese by the name of Masaki Honda, who have a great love for Italian food that he went to Italy to learn Italian cuisine. He was so passionate about Italian food that he wanted to be the best Japanese chef in Italian cuisine and in the course of that he won numerous awards in cooking contests in Europe. He later went back to Japan and opened his first outlet in Shibuya and the rest is history! If you want to know more about the history, you can go here --> http://www.capricciosa.com.my/about-history.html.

My menu started with Clam Chowder which quickly soothe and greatly satisfy my hungry tummy. Next I had Marinated Tuna and Calamari Salad which was quite refreshing. By this time, I was quite full to tell you the truth. Then main meal came - Fettucine with Clams. It was superb! The Fettucine was home made, and the broth, with the clams in it was very tasty.

I would definitely recommend this place for Italian food lovers :-) I finished the meal with a cup of nice hot tea.. Ahhhh...
